Mostly cloudy weather is expected in most parts of the country, while cold in northern areas during the next twelve hours.

However, rain-thunderstorm is expected in some districts of upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Light rain and light snowfall is also expected over high mountains in Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning.

Islamabad and Peshawar fifteen degree centigrade, Lahore nineteen, Karachi twenty-five,  Gilgit eight, Muzaffarabad twelve, Quetta and Murree ten degree centigrade.

Earlier, another cyclonic storm Maha, which developed in the Arabian Sea had intensified and moved to category one, reports suggest.

According to the details, Maha, which is directing north-westwards is 1,600km away from Karachi’s coast and was surrounded by winds having speed between 90 km per hour and 110 km per hour.

According to the MET office, Maha was being predicted to gain intensity and turn into a severe cyclonic storm over the next 24 hours.

Pakistan Meteorological Department issued alert saying that a very severe cyclonic storm, ‘Kyarr’, was developing over the east-central Arabian Sea and had rapidly intensified into a super cyclonic storm during the past 12 hours.
