Thick fog blankets Punjab and Sindh

Thick blankets of fog have blanked several cities of Punjab and Sindh between Wednesday and Thursday night affecting routine life and severely disrupting the road traffic.

Motorway sections from Multan to Rahim Yar Khan (M5), Sher Shah Interchange to Sukkur (M5) shut down due to low visibility.

Thick fog disrupted flow of traffic at National Highway in Chichawatni, Mian Channu, and other cities as visibility very low.

The Motorway police advised drivers to switch on fog lights while driving at very slow speed as the visibility dropped to zero metres due to dense fog.

The Motorway police have also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.

The National Highways and Motorway Police issued advisory, asked commuters to avoid unnecessary travel, use Humsafar mobile app for quick information about major routes.

Pakistan Metrological department has forecast cold and dry weather today in the country while very cold in upper areas.

Dense fog is likely to prevail in most plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh
