Weather in Karachi: Record breaking cold is expected

Karachi: The temperature of the city will break the all previous records in upcoming days.

According to the details, The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported on Monday that a westerly weather system, that caused light rain and cloudy weather in Karachi, has now shifted to Balochistan; the frosty wave witnessed recently is to continue till 18th of January.

The city of lights observing the icy weather marking new records is expected to witness a drop in mercury as low as 3 degrees Celsius, leaving the citizens to shiver and wither in cold.

After the lowest recorded temperature of 3.3 degrees Celsius, on 11 February 1950, this will be Karachi’s lowest temperature drop in over 70 years of recorded history.

The report also stated that the various areas of Karachi received drizzles and slight rain on Sunday night in the midst of the Siberian wind system sub-zeroing the city.
