Pakistan Meteorological Department on Friday predicts heavy rainfall with thunderstorm in several parts of the country including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

PMD predicts thunderstorm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and Upper Sindh in the next 12 hours.

In addition to this, heavy rainfall with hailstorm is predicted in areas of Kashmir, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, and upper Punjab Zhob, Musa Khel, Loralai, DI Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Dir, Malakand, Swat, Peshawar, Mardan, Hazara.

Several areas of Pakistan received heavy rainfall last night that disturbed daily life routines.

Hundreds of feeders of Lesco also went out of order. Sources say that residential and commercial areas, playgrounds, graveyards, public parks, and bus stands were affected due to stagnant water.

Authorities say that there is a risk of land sliding in Kashmir, Malakand, Dir and in Hazara.

Note that 4 persons have died in KPK due to rain-related incidents yesterday.

Roof collapse and electrocution incidents took the lives of four, including 3 children.

The rooftop of a house collapsed in the Jalala area of Mardan. Two children died whereas 4 other persons got injured.

On the other hand, a youngster died due to electrocution from a high voltage electricity transmission at Edgar road of Okara.

A new study revealed that half of beaches in the world would wipe out by 2100 due to severe climatic changes.

The report published in journal Nature Climate Change, said Climate change and sea level rise are currently on track to wipe out half the world’s sandy beaches by 2100.
