Met office predicts rainfall in Sindh and Balochistan during Thursday to Saturday

A monsoon low pressure from Bay of Bengal is likely to approach Sindh on Thursday (evening/night).

Met office issued a press release according to which several areas of Sindh, South Punjab and Eastern Balochistan are likely to received heavy rainfall.

Under the influence of this weather system strong monsoon currents are expected to penetrate in Sindh, South Punjab and Eastern Balochistan from Thursday (evening/night) to Saturday. According to the press release:

  • Widespread rain/wind-thundershowers, with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Tharparker, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Tando Allah Yar, Matiyari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro, Dadu and Shaheed Benazirabad from Thursday (evening/night) to Saturday.
  • Scattered rain-thundershowers (with isolated heavy falls) are also expected in Bahawalpur, Rahim yar Khan, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Kambarshahdadkot, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Kalat, Jaffarabad, Jhalmagsi, Khuzdar, Lasbella and Awaran on Friday and Saturday.

Pakistan Army Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and Rangers have begun arrived at Gujjar Nullahto help the civil government in cleanliness activities in Karachi.

The cleanliness operations have been started by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
