KARACHI: As Ramadan is just a few days ahead, the meteorological department shared some glad tidings for Karachiites that during the first 10 days of the blessed month, the temperature is likely to remain moderate with reduced intensity of heat.

The first 10 days of Ramadan – a month when Muslims across the globe observe fasts and worship – will witness reduced heat and the forecast is clear for the initial days.

Pakistan is likely to observe its first fast on March 23, Thursday, as the moon is expected to be seen on March 22 due to the clear sky.

The weather department has said that the chances of moon sighting on Wednesday are high due to clear weather conditions.

The meeting is scheduled for March 22 headed by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Moulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad.

A few days before the arrival of the holy month, Karachiites witnessed a sudden turn in the weather with rainfall and hailstorm hitting various parts of the city.

The met department has already warned of rainfalls and thunderstorms for this month under a westerly system that entered the country on March 17.

Under influence of this system, Karachi and its outskirts have been experiencing unusual rainfall this month.
