The Meteorological Department has expected varied intensities of rainfall for portions of the province, including Lahore, during the second half of this week.

From July 12 to July 17, a second period of monsoon showers will bring widespread precipitation.

Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to enter the upper and central areas of the country on July 12 in the evening and strengthen on July 14.

On July 12 evening/night, a westerly wave is forecast to enter the higher portions of the country.

Rain/wind-thundershower with few heavy falls is expected in Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kasur, and Okara from July 12 evening/night to July 17 with occasional gaps under the influence of these weather systems.

Rain/wind-thundershower with a few heavy falls is forecast in Mianwali, Khusab, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh from the evening/night of July 13 to the morning of July 17, with occasional intervals.

Rain/wind-thunderstorms are also forecast in D G Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Kot Addu from the evening/night of July 14 to the morning of July 16.

From July 14 to July 17, heavy rain may create urban floods in low-lying parts of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Lahore.

During the period, a wet spell may cause landslides in the sensitive districts of Murree and Galliyat.

Farmers are encouraged to plan their activities in accordance with the weather forecast.

Travellers are encouraged to be especially cautious during the wet spell to prevent any unpleasant situations.

Electric poles and solar panels may be damaged by a dust storm/wind-thunderstorm.

During a windstorm or severe rain, the general public is recommended to seek shelter in a safe location.

The maximum temperature in Lahore was 33 degrees Celsius.

The relative humidity throughout the evening was 78 percent.

The muggy weather was caused by high humidity, which caused Lahorites to sweat profusely throughout the day.

Maximum temperatures in Lahore are expected to remain in the 32-36C range for the next three days.
