In a bid to combat the harmful impact of smog and environmental pollution, Islamabad has enacted a ban on vehicles that emit smoke from entering the city’s boundaries.

This ban applies to all categories of vehicles, encompassing private, government, and commercial ones.

The directive, issued by Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), specifies that this restriction will be in effect until January.

Those who violate this ban will be subject to legal consequences enforced by the authorities in Islamabad.

This strict measure has been put in place to protect the city from the dangers posed by increased pollution levels and smog, especially during the winter season.

The public is earnestly urged to cooperate with the local police in order to ensure the effective implementation of this vital initiative. In case of emergencies or to report violations, residents are encouraged to get in touch with the Islamabad Police at 15 or make use of the ICT Police app for immediate assistance and support.
