The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts rainfall and snowfall in Islamabad and various parts of the country this week. A westerly wave is influencing the upper regions of Pakistan, particularly the southern and western areas, starting from today evening/night.

This weather pattern will bring cold conditions to most parts of the country on Thursday evening/night, Friday, and Saturday. However, isolated places in Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, and the Pothohar region may experience rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over mountains. There’s a concern about heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding in specific local areas of Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Dalbandin, and Khuzdar on February 2nd and 3rd.

Heavy rain and snow are expected in isolated places in Kashmir, which may affect transportation in Murree, Galyat, and other tourist spots. Tourists are advised to be cautious. Some areas in south Punjab and upper Sindh may experience fog during the night.

Islamabad is expected to have a minimum temperature ranging between 04-06 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

In the last 24 hours, rain, thunderstorms, and snow occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, northeast/central Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fog was observed in a few plain areas of south Punjab and upper Sindh.
