The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has given a heads-up about the weather in parts of Punjab. They’re predicting rain, wind, thunderstorms, possible hailstorms, and mountain snowfall from Monday evening to Tuesday, February 26-27.

According to the PMD, a weather system, called a westerly wave, is set to reach Balochistan by Sunday night, February 25, and then move towards the upper regions of the country by Monday, February 26.

This system might bring light to moderate rain, wind, and thunderstorms to various areas, including Murree, Galyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Dera Ghazi Khan. The mountains could also see some snow, and there’s a chance of isolated hailstorms.

The impact of these weather conditions could include traffic issues in hilly places like Murree and Galyat, and there’s a risk of damage to structures like electric poles and solar panels due to wind thunderstorms. People, especially farmers and tourists, are advised to be careful during this period.

Meanwhile, Lahore and most parts of Punjab had cold and dry weather in the last 24 hours. Murree had the lowest temperatures in the province, going below freezing, with 76 percent humidity in the morning. Lahore’s minimum temperature was around 10 degrees Celsius, with 66 percent humidity.
