The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) anticipates additional rain and snowfall in Peshawar and certain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa throughout this week.

According to the weather pattern analysis, there’s a westerly wave present in the upper regions of Pakistan, and it’s expected to impact the southern and western areas of the country starting from this evening or tonight.

The weather forecast indicates that Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot, and Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can expect rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the mountains on Thursday evening/night, Friday, and Saturday.

The rest of the province will experience cold and partly cloudy weather. The snowfall may impact transportation in tourist areas, so visitors are advised to be cautious.

Peshawar is expected to have a minimum temperature ranging from 05-07 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday. In the last 24 hours, some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced rain, thunderstorms, and snow.

Notable rainfall includes Kakul 36mm, Balakot 33mm, and Patan 23mm. Snowfall was recorded in Malamjabba and Kalam with 9 inches each, and Chitral with 1 inch. Kalam was the coldest place in the province, with temperatures dropping 5 degrees Celsius below freezing. In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was 05 degrees Celsius with 100 percent relative humidity in the morning.
