The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted more rain, wind, and thunderstorms in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Thursday evening to Saturday. This is due to a weather system called a westerly wave, which is affecting central and upper Pakistan and is expected to last until March 31.

Under these conditions, areas like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and others in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to experience more rain, wind, and thunderstorms during this period. Heavy rainfall is possible in certain areas, which could lead to landslides in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning may also cause damage to crops and structures like electric poles and solar panels.

Tourists and farmers are advised to be cautious during this wet period, and temperatures are expected to decrease during the rainy spell.

Peshawar is expected to have maximum temperatures between 24-26 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

During the last 24 hours, there was rainfall in Peshawar and various parts of the province:
