More rain, wind, and thunderstorms are predicted for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan starting Thursday evening until Saturday due to a weather system called a westerly wave. This wave is affecting central and upper Pakistan and is expected to continue until March 31.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warns of rain, wind, and thunderstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, central and upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and northern Balochistan during this period. Southern parts of Pakistan may experience dust storms and strong winds.

Moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to landslides in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. Windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning might damage crops, electric poles, and solar panels. Travelers and farmers are advised to be cautious. Temperatures are expected to drop during the rainy period.

Forecasted maximum temperatures for Friday and Saturday are 24-26 degrees Celsius in Islamabad and 25-27 degrees Celsius in Rawalpindi.

  • In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Parachinar received 13 mm, Dera Ismail Khan 11 mm, Dir 11 mm, Bannu 08 mm, etc.
  • In Baluchistan: Zhob got 10 mm, Quetta 02 mm, etc.
  • In Punjab: Chakwal received 09 mm, Bhakkar 08 mm, Rawalpindi 05 mm, Islamabad 05 mm, Murree 04 mm, etc.
  • In Kashmir: Rawalakot got 06 mm, Muzaffarabad 01 mm.
  • In Gilgit-Baltistan: Astore received 05 mm, Skardu 02 mm, Gilgit 01 mm, etc.

Nawabshah was the hottest place with a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, while Islamabad and Rawalpindi had maximum temperatures of 26 degrees Celsius.
