LAHORE – Rain and thunderstorms are forecasted in Islamabad, Lahore, and parts of Punjab during Eid-ul-Adha.

After a dry day on Eid-ul-Adha (June 17), intermittent rains are expected in the twin cities, Lahore, and parts of Punjab from June 18 to June 22.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea are likely to enter the upper and central parts of the country starting June 18. A shallow westerly wave is also anticipated to approach the western regions on the same day.

This weather system is expected to bring intermittent rains to Lahore and parts of Punjab from the evening/night of June 18 to June 22.

Rain, wind, and thundershowers, with occasional heavy falls, are forecasted in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali from the evening/night of June 18 to June 22, with occasional gaps. Rain, wind, and thundershowers are also predicted in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Layyah from June 20 to June 22.

Possible Impacts and Advisories:

Gusty winds and lightning may disrupt daily routines and affect loose structures such as electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels. The very hot weather conditions are expected to ease from June 19 to June 22.
