Ten more survivors, including the captain and other crew members, were found three days after a cargo boat sank in the Makassar Strait in South Sulawesi province.
Since search and rescue efforts began on Saturday, 31 of the 42 people on board have been recovered, according to Djunaidi, the director of the regional search and rescue organisation. Djunaidi, like many Indonesians, solely goes by one name.

The boat set out from a Makassar seaport on Thursday, bound for Kalmas Island in Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi Province, with stops along the way to see some of the Makassar Strait’s islands.
The ten survivors were carried to their house on Pamantauan Island, in Makassar Strait, by a local fisherman on Monday morning.
Djunaidi stated, “They are safe and in good condition.”
The sinking ship was initially thought to be a passenger ferry, but Djunaidi subsequently explained that it was actually a cargo boat with building supplies.
Thirty-six people had requested a trip on the boat, which had a crew of six. Officials said the search and rescue crew is hunting for the remaining 11 passengers.
