As of July 1, these California laws are in force; that influence school timetables and firearms prohibitions. According to Cal Matters, the new laws are a part of the 770 bills that Governor Gavin Newsom signed. According to KTLA sister station KTXL, Senate Bill 328 allays worries that classes begin too early; and prevent kids from getting enough sleep. The governing board of each school district is required by current law; according to California legislative legislation; to determine the duration of the school day. But that broad power will eventually run out.

Middle schools, including those run as charter schools; cannot begin before 8 a.m. as of July 1. Similar to this, most high school campuses cannot open their doors before 8:30 am. The legislation aims to increase the amount of sleep available; to preteens and teenagers in order to benefit their development and health.

Untraceable firearms, such as ghost weapons, are being employed more frequently by gun trafficking organisations nationwide. In a Santa Clarita school shooting in 2019; authorities claimed a sixteen-year-old kid used a ghost pistol; killing two students and wounding three more. One of the ten states with gun control laws is California.
