Gatwick Airport: A suspected Russian agent posing as a Putin snitch is being held

According to reports, a suspected Russian spy was apprehended at Gatwick Airport as he was preparing to depart the UK.

The man, who was in his forties, was arrested under the Official Secrets Act for spying and sabotage that was “helpful to a hostile power.

‘We can confirm that officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command detained a man in his 40s at Gatwick airport on June 13 on suspicion of crimes under section 1 of the Official Secrets Act 1911,’ a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.

‘He was arrested and transferred to a London police station, where he is still being held.’ The investigation is still ongoing.’

A source told, ‘The suspect is believed to have been in the UK spying on behalf of the Putin regime.”

‘As he arrived at Gatwick Airport to try to flee the country, he was detained and arrested.’

The location of the man’s intended flight has not been divulged by police.

His arrest came as a result of a joint investigation by the Metropolitan Police’s SO15 counter-terrorism unit and the British intelligence agency MI5.
