Two landslides caused by heavy rains on Thursday morning in Hunan Province, Hunan Province in central China, left two people dead and four missing, local authorities said.

At around 3 am on Thursday, a landslide occurred in the town of Tunlingsi in the Maya-Miao Autonomous Region.

The landslide destroyed two houses and left four people missing.
Another landslide occurred in Dahuaping village around 4 a.m., killing two people. Removal and rescue operations are ongoing.

In early 2021, heavy rains in central China’s Hubei Province killed at least 21 people and left many missing.

The Chinese Meteorological Agency has issued a yellow warning for heavy rains in parts of central and eastern China, warning people to be careful.

The National Observatory advised local authorities to beware of possible floods, landslides and landslides and to suspend outdoor activities in hazardous areas.

Two people died in 2015 and five went missing over the weekend due to heavy rains and landslides in eastern China’s Anhui Province.

A statement from Provincial Flood and Drought Headquarters said six people had been killed in the floods in Jingjai District. Rescue crews found the body Sunday afternoon.

Another body was found in the house after it rained on Monday morning. The weather affected about 120,000 people and only 2,500 people were evacuated. At the time, the direct economic cost was estimated at 135 million yuan (about $22.1 million).
