The merger of Ukraine’s Kherson region into Russia is underway, according to the territory’s Russian-appointed head. “We know Russia is with us, and we will always be with Russia,” Vladimir Saldo stated over Telegram. “Integration has begun and will be pursued vigorously.” Saldo did not elaborate on what “integration” entails.

Since the beginning of the invasion, the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine has been under Russian control, however, in recent weeks, the Ukrainian military has increased its counterattacks against Russian outposts in the Kherson area.

“We have the impression that we are already united with Russia,” Saldo remarked. “All difficulties will be dealt methodically in a shared giant family; and we will fully react to all requests of the moment,” says the narrator.
