William’s birthday falls roughly three weeks after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, as well as their children Archie and Lilibet, returned to the United Kingdom.

The royal couple extended an olive branch to the Cambridges by attending Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and invited them to Lilibet’s first birthday party.

Meghan and Harry returned to Britain in the hopes of mending frayed ties with William and Kate, but they were shunned, according to the International Business Times.

Meghan Markle is said to be depressed over their rejection during their visit to the United Kingdom.

The Duchess of Sussex has urged her husband Prince Harry against offering William and Kate Middleton a ‘olive branch’ of reconciliation.

‘Meghan says they’ve got to quit making the first move and presenting all these olive branches that only get flung back in their faces,’ the newspaper adds, citing a source.

Meghan and Harry may not even greet Prince William on his 40th birthday, according to the report. “They may send a card and small gift, but it’s unlikely. The way the Cambridges were with them at the Jubilee was hurtful, and they’re not likely to forget that in a hurry.”
