Man arrested after finding 2 bodies found
Two women’s bodies in findings inside the house where a barricade scenario occurred; for almost nine hours in an eastern Henrico neighbourhood. According to authorities, 60-year-old Richard C. Crowder apprehended shortly before 6:25 p.m.; after he left the house while still on the phone with the police.
The two women’s remains were found; when police entered the house after that, according to officials.
Two counts of second-degree murder; three counts of using a firearm to commit a crime, and one case of malicious shooting; were all brought against Crowder.
At the Henrico County Jail, he is in jail without bail.
Police earlier stated that they thought the standoff had a domestic component.
According to a Henrico County Police spokesperson; the criminal investigations team is on the site and will take up the investigation; of this double homicide later in the day.
A shooting was reported in the 7600 block of Phillips Wood Drive; at around 9:30 in the morning.
Jon Burkett was informed by Crime Insider sources; that someone in the house fired at the responding officers; forcing them to take shelter.
According to a police spokesperson, the first officers “secured the area and waited; for additional assistance.” “No emergency personnel have suffered injuries.”
