Authorities announce the recall of more than 13,000 pounds of frozen pizza on Sunday; due to concerns that they are tainted with “extraneous items, notably metal.”

The Food Safety and Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture stated that the “best by” date for the 33.5-ounce Chicago’s Home Run Inn pizzas, which are topped with sausage, pepperoni, onions, and peppers, is Dec. 3. (FSIS).

The problem “was identified when the firm told FSIS that it had received customer complaints alleging metal was found in the pizza,” the agency stated. The recalled frozen pizzas were produced on June 6.
