According to accounts, a 10-year-old boy is making a full recovery after being attacked by a shark and losing a portion of his leg.

According to a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission official, the kid, identified as Jameson Reeder Jr., was vacationing in the Florida Keys with his parents and three siblings.

The shark bit the youngster on his lower right leg on Saturday afternoon when the family was snorkelling at Looe Key Reef, according to the FWC.

Joshua Reeder, Jameson’s uncle, claimed that the family thought the youngster had been attacked by an 8-foot bull shark. The shark’s specifics have not been disclosed by wildlife authorities.

Jameson Reeder Sr., my brother, got his family on the boat and sped over to save his son as his son yelled and shouted for help while somehow remaining afloat on a noodle, Joshua Reeder posted on Facebook.

The family was able to reboard their boat with their 10-year-old and tourniquet his leg.

A different boat with a nurse on board was able to assist the family, taking the boy and his mother to land, according to Reeder. The kid was then taken to a hospital by paramedics for treatment.According to the boy’s uncle, the extent of the shark’s destruction required doctors to amputate the boy’s right leg below the knee.

Joshua Reeder stated, “He is now out of surgery and resting and has now received the news of what all transpired.

The shark attack was reported to the Miami Herald by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman, but no other information has been made public.
