One child, 3 teens accused of attacking California woman
Four teenagers, aged 11 to 18, were detained for violently robbing an elderly Asian woman in San Francisco, according to police.
The 70-year-old victim was attacked and robbed on July 31, according to a social media announcement.
The victim told arriving officers that she was standing in front of a building when four juvenile suspects approached her and began talking to her.
She couldn’t understand what the suspects were saying because of a language barrier. When she turned to enter the building’s lobby, she stated that the suspects were able to get admission and follow her in.
The perpetrators were reported to have physically attacked the victim, stolen the victim’s stuff, and fled while inside the building.
The woman was transported to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
During a press conference Monday, San Francisco police identified the suspects as 18-year-old Darryl Moore of Oakland, as well as children aged 11, 13, and 14.
Moore, the 11 and 13-year-old boys, were arrested in Milpitas on Wednesday in connection with an unrelated, unspecified offence.
A warrant has been issued for the 14-year-arrest, old’s but he has yet to be found.
According to San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott, the 11-year-old suspect will not be charged owing to their age.
