Michigan man sentenced to 70–100 years for hammer-killing two women

A man who was charged in the hammer killings of two women after he showed cellphone photos of their beaten bodies to sheriff’s deputies during a traffic stop received a sentence ranging from seventy to one hundred years in prison for his role in the crimes,On Wednesday.

After pleading guilty but mentally ill to the charge of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Kaylee Ann Brock, 26, of Holt, and Julie Ann Mooney, 32, of Williamston in May 2019, Kiernan Brown, 30, of Delta Township, was sentenced in Ingham County. Brown was found responsible for the deaths.

The authorities stated at the time that Brown was arrested on Interstate 69, approximately 108 miles northwest of Detroit, after an ex-girlfriend reported that he had been violating a personal protection order by banging on her door and sending disturbing texts to her. She was not one of the people who lost their lives.

Brown stated that he used a hammer to kill Brock and Mooney during his hearing regarding his plea.
