A second woman has died after being hurt in a crowd at a concert at the Brixton O2 Academy in London.

The Met Police said that a “large number of people” tried to force their way into the Afro-pop singer Asake’s concert on Thursday. The concert had to be cut short because of this.

The Met said Gabrielle Hutchinson, who was 23 years old, died early Monday morning in a hospital.

She was one of the people hired to keep people safe at the event that night.

It comes after Rebecca Ikumelo, a 33-year-old mother of two, died on Saturday.

The police said that a third woman, who was 21 years old, was still in the hospital and in very bad shape.

The Met said, “At this point, we know that all three of the seriously hurt women, including Rebecca Ikumelo and Gabrielle Hutchinson, who tragically died, were in the building’s foyer.”

It also said that detectives were “working hard to figure out exactly what happened Thursday night” and that the investigation was “big and complicated.”

Officers are looking at footage from CCTV cameras and cell phones, talking to witnesses, and doing forensic tests.

Ch Supt Colin Wingrove, policing commander for Lambeth and Southwark, said: “It is devastating news that a second person has lost their life following the events on Thursday. “I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to Gabrielle’s family at this unimaginably difficult time.”
