The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has verified that a fourth youngster has passed away after getting Strep A.

A student at St John’s School in Ealing, west London, died most recently from the bacterial illness.

It is also verified that a four-year-old boy from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, passed away last month with Strep A.

Primary school students from Ashford, Surrey, and Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan were the other two children that passed away.

Scarlet fever can be brought on by the Group A Streptococcal (GAS) infection.

Although scarlet fever is a benign sickness, the GAS bacteria that causes it can occasionally grow invasive and cause significant illness, according to the UKHSA, which was quoted by the Media.

The UKHSA stated that it was collaborating with Ealing Council to offer the school public health guidance and support.

The UKHSA stated that a complete course of antibiotics given by a GP can be used to treat Group A streptococcal infection symptoms, which include a sore throat, fever, and mild skin infections.

Dr. Chow continued, “In rare cases, it can be a severe sickness, and anyone with a high temperature, intense muscle discomfort, pain in one area of the body, and unexplained vomiting or diarrhea should phone NHS 111 and seek medical attention right once.
