Griner was swapped for Russian arms trader Viktor Bout last week.

She thanked Biden and vowed to return to Phoenix Mercury this season.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist left Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, where she spent a week rehabilitating.

Griner also offered to assist Biden free Paul Whelan, an ex-Marine in Russian captivity on spying accusations for over four years.

Biden administration was criticized for not swapping Whelan for Griner-Bout. The US said Griner or no one.

Griner said Biden is “dedicated to getting Paul Whelan and other Americans home” and urged “everyone who helped bring me home to continue their efforts” to free him.

She said, “Every family deserves wholeness.”

Griner was arrested in February at a Moscow airport for carrying cannabis oil.

Under pressure from activists, lawmakers, and individuals close to Griner, the US administration reached a deal with Russia to release her for Bout, who was flown back after 12 years in US captivity.

Two private planes flew them from Moscow and Washington to Abu Dhabi and back.

Griner, 32, is a famous American athlete. The double Olympic champion is a WNBA star for Phoenix Mercury.

Her agent stated she played basketball for the first time since her arrest at a Texas army base.
