The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says that a firefight near the Pakistan border killed four members of Iran’s security forces.

Mohammad Goudarzi, a member of the elite force, and three members of the Basij forces, which are part of the IRGC, were killed in a fight with a “terrorist group” that was not named, according to a statement from state media.

It said that the attack was stopped by IRGC ground forces, which caused the attackers to run away to Pakistan.

The event is said to have happened in Saravan, which is in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balochistan and close to the border with Pakistan.

The IRGC did not say that the fighting was related to the ongoing unrest in the country. Protests began in mid-September after Mahsa Amini died in police custody. She had been arrested by morality police for allegedly not following a dress code for women.

But it has in the past blamed “separatist” and “terrorist” groups in border areas of Sistan and Balochistan, where most ethnic Balochis live, and in Kurd-majority areas in the northwest of the country for causing trouble.

Since the protests started, some of the deadliest things have happened in Sistan and Balochistan.

This includes what Amnesty International said happened on September 30, when security forces killed dozens of people.

Iran said that “terrorist” forces had opened fire, killing a number of people, including some IRGC members. This caused security forces to respond.

Since September, a security group in Iran said earlier this month that 200 people have been killed in the unrest. This number is much lower than the more than 450 people who have been killed, according to human rights groups based outside of Iran.

The United States and Israel are among the countries that the Iranian government says are behind the country’s unrest.

On Sunday, state TV showed a report that said Iran’s intelligence ministry had arrested a number of unnamed people who were allegedly working for Israel to “harm sensitive defence industries.”
