Probe launches after woman and two children died in Kettering
Police reported that a woman and two children who were discovered in a Kettering house with terrible injuries have since passed away.
At 11:15 GMT, police were called to Petherton Court in Kettering where a boy, believed to be six years old, and a girl, believed to be four years old, were discovered to have serious injuries.
The woman was treated by paramedics, but authorities said she passed away at the scene. Later, the two kids passed away in the hospital.
A 52-year-old man has been detained on murder allegations.
According to Northamptonshire Police, no one else is being sought in connection with the investigation at this time.
Supt Steve Freeman said: “There are no words to describe how upsetting this incident is, but I want to reassure the public that we have a team of detectives working on the case, absolutely determined to get justice for this woman and the two children.”
The officer appealed for witnesses and any information in connection with the “desperately sad” deaths.
In the upcoming days, forensic post mortem studies to determine the cause of the three fatalities were anticipated.
