A car was discovered submerged in the water, forcing a CoastGuard rescue squad to wade into the ocean.

On Wednesday, the silver hatchback’s roof and rear window could be seen in the waves off Shoebury Common beach in Essex, close to Southend-on-Sea.

HM Coastguard Southend-on-Sea officers responded to the call.

It tweeted, “Thank goodness, the vehicle was empty.” Two cops were deployed into the rough waters to confirm there were no passengers in the vehicle.

The Coastguard noted that the owner was promptly found and was able to confirm that there had been no reported injuries when the car got stuck in the sand.
