Three churches prays for Wallasey pub patron Elle Edwards
Elle Edwards, who was shot and killed on Christmas Eve at a pub, has had her family lifted up in prayer by three different places of worship.
A week after the 26-year-old beautician was shot in front of The Lighthouse in Wallasey, Wirral, candles were also lighted in her honor.
In an effort to discover those guilty for the attack, Ms. Edwards’ father described her as “the most beautiful and bright star” in a police plea for information.
A 31-year-old Tranmere man is still being held in jail on suspicion of planning a murder.
To help the neighborhood “come together,” prayers were said at Holy Apostles and Martyrs, Wallasey Village URC, and St. Nicholas.
From 14:00 to 17:00 GMT, the Catholic church of the Holy Apostles and Martyrs was open for Ms. Edwards’s needs.
Canon The neighborhood was “very startled,” according to Philip Moor, whose niece and nephew were were inside the bar when the incident occurred.
He said: “It is saddened, devastated but I would say the community is hurting at the moment.
“We want to reach out to start the process of healing.”
Ms. Edwards died after several shots were fired towards the entrance of The Lighthouse at about 23:50 GMT on 24 December.
Merseyside Police appealed for information about a dark-cultured Mercedes in the pub car park that was used in the attack.
A 28-year-old man who was badly hurt but whose condition is no longer life-threatening was among the other four guys who were hurt.
An additional 30-year-old Tranmere man who was previously detained on charges of attempted murder and murder has been recalled to prison.
A Rock Ferry woman, 19, who was detained on suspicion of plotting a murder, has been freed on bail.
