In preparation for the storm, the governors of New York state, Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia, as well as Georgia and Oklahoma, have issued states of emergency in their respective states.

Additionally, the state of Wisconsin has declared a “energy emergency.”

Floods and ice jams, which occur when massive pieces of ice block the flow of a river and produce flooding, are going to “wreak a lot of havoc in our city,” according to New York State Governor Kathy Hochul.

She pleaded with locals to exercise caution and refrain from travelling unless it was absolutely necessary.
