According to police, a shooting early on Tuesday at a convenience store in central Washington state left three people dead, and the suspect has already passed away after an arduous pursuit lasting many hours.

Three unidentified victims were discovered dead at a Circle K in Yakima, Washington, at around 3:30 in the morning, according to Chief Matt Murray, who spoke to reporters. Authorities stated that it appeared as though the shootings of two victims inside the business and one outside were random acts of violence.

“It appears to be a random situation. There was no apparent conflict between the parties,” Murray said. “The male just walked in and started shooting.”

The suspect, Jarid Haddock, 21, opened fire in the store before running across the street and firing at a car, prompting the driver to switch to the passenger seat. Police said the man stole the vehicle and then ran away.

After a lengthy manhunt, a relative of Haddock alerted police to the spot where Haddock was hiding between some warehouses. Police heard gunshots as they arrived, and a guy who identified himself as Haddock was discovered injured, according to Murray.

He stated that no cops were hurt or forced to use any force.

Haddock passed away at the scene from his wounds.
