Iranian arrests in Germany suspected of chemical terror attack
German police had apprehended an Iranian national on suspicion of plotting a terrorist act, authorities in the nation reported on Sunday.
Police in the western city of Munster said the 32-year-old man is believed to have procured unspecified amounts of the toxins cyanide and ricin in preparation for an “Islamist-motivated attack.”
According to police, the suspect was taken into custody following an investigation by the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor’s Office’s North Rhine-Westphalia Central Office for the Prosecution of Terrorism.
According to police, materials were found during a search of the suspect’s house in Castrop-Rauxel, and an investigation is still ongoing.
Police stated without offering any other information that another person is also being held in connection with the case.
