A man in his 20s suffered significant injuries after being attacked in County Down by masked men with hammers and iron bars.

At around 19:05 GMT on Saturday, he was assaulted close to Blackwater Heights in Ballygowan.

The victim then had medical treatment for head, arm, and leg wounds, according to Det Sgt. Westbury.

Anyone who was around during the attack and observed anything to report it should call the police, according to the police.

A guy in his 20s was attacked in County Down by masked individuals wielding hammers and iron bars, and he sustained serious injuries as a result.

He was attacked Saturday at about 19:05 GMT near Ballygowan, close to Blackwater Heights.

After then, the victim received medical attention for injuries to the head, arm, and leg, according to Det Sgt. Westbury.

The police advise anyone who was present during the attack and saw anything to report to contact them.
