Over 1,200 protestors arrested and transferred to the Federal Police headquarters in Brasilia, after protestors invaded government palaces on Sunday, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Justice.

The majority of the arrests took place in front of the army headquarters in Brasilia, where Jair Bolsonaro’s supporters had been camped out since December.

Numerous buses were utilized in the operation, according to the neighborhood police.

Flavio Dino, the justice minister for Brazil, announced on Sunday night that 200 protestors arrested in connection with vandalism in the nation’s capital.

The minister claimed that 40 buses that had been used to ferry demonstrators to Brasilia from various parts of the nation had been impounded.

“These buses are instruments for perpetuating crimes”, Dino said.

The investigation is now trying to establish who financed the protests.

In messages sent throughout the week on Telegram, organizers offered available spaces in “free buses” with “everything for free: water, coffee, lunch, dinner”.

Inspections within government buildings include gathering DNA evidence left on surfaces and discarded personal things.

Additionally, the Federal Police of Brazil’s used drone footage it captured during the attacks to help identify the demonstrators.
