The secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, has been outspoken regarding the arrival of tanks from Poland.

“I am more than sure the tanks that will be provided to us, it will be very, very fast,” said Danilov on Ukrainian television.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces will “master” the use of the tanks “in a matter of weeks,” added Danilov.

The decision to send Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine was revealed by Polish President Andrzej Duda during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday in Lviv.

Since Russia’s invasion, a tank produced in the West has never been transported to Ukraine.

Duda cautioned during a press conference that “a whole range of formal requirements, approvals and so on must also be met.”

Since the Leopard tank is made in Germany, a cargo would normally need authorization to be exported again.
