Firefighters battles with fire at Turkey’s Iskenderun port
Firefighters are attempting to put out a fire at the Iskenderun port, according to reputed media on the ground.
As firefighters and at least two firefighting planes work to douse the flames, thick smoke continues to rise from the port.
Following significant earthquake damage on Monday and a subsequent fire that started amid cargo at the terminal, the southern Turkish port remained shut.
On Wednesday, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry stated that the firefighting activities were still ongoing.
“Our teams are working continuously at the Iskenderun Port to cool down the fire from air and land,” the ministry tweeted.
