Death toll across Turkey and Syria crosses 17,500

At least 17,543 people have died as a result of the terrible earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, according to authorities.

According to Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, at least 14,351 people have died and 63,794 have been injured in Turkey.

A total of 3,192 people have died in Syria, including 1,930 in rebel-held territory in the northwest, according to the civil defense organization “White Helmets,” and 1,262 in areas under government control, according to Syrian official media.

5,158 individuals were injured in total in Syria throughout all affected areas, 2,258 in government-controlled territory and 2,900 in rebel-held territory.

White Helmets, Turkish government, and Syrian official media data all indicate that at least 68,952 people have been hurt in Syria and Turkey.
