Rishi Sunak and Ursula von der Leyen will meet later today, and Rishi Sunak tweeted that he was “looking forward” to it.

The UK PM confirmed the pair will be meeting in Windsor for “further talks on the shared, practical solutions to the range of complex challenges around the Northern Ireland Protocol”.

Time will tell if they and their teams of negotiators were successful in finding a solution to the variety of problems brought on by the Protocol’s implementation in 2020.

We’ll let you know as soon as we learn more about when Sunak and von der Leyen are expected to sit down.

The prime minister will speak about the Northern Ireland Protocol at 18:30 GMT, according to the House of Commons.

After his meeting with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen this afternoon, Rishi Sunak will address the House of Representatives.
