The esteemed President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz al-Sudais, commonly known as H.E Al-Sudais, completed an incredible milestone – 40 years as the Imam of the Holy Haram in Makkah.

H.E. Al-Sudais, a globally renowned reciter of the Holy Quran and the most popular Imam in Saudi Arabia, hails from the prestigious Arabian tribe, “Annazah.” At the tender age of 12, he memorized the entire Holy Quran and went on to earn a degree in Sharia from Riyadh University in 1983.

Additionally, he majored in Islamic Fundamentals from the Sharia College of Imam Muhammad, and later completed his P.H.D degree in Islamic Shariah from Um- al Qura University in 1995.

In 1984 (1404, in Islamic calendar), His Late Majesty King Fahad bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, appointed Al Sudais as the Imam of Masjid Al Haram in Makkah via a Royal Decree.

At the tender age of 24, H.E. Al-Sudais led his very first Salah on May 22, 1984 (22 Shaban 1404), creating an enduring legacy in the spiritual heart of the Masjid Al Haram.

A recording of this inaugural Salah can be heard in the attached tweet below.
