Macron‘s decision to invoke 49:3 was called “chaotic and disgusting” by Eric Ciotti, president of the French Republicans.

Appearing on French television program, he claimed the decision to activate the article was “a result of many years of political failures” that demonstrates “a severe crisis in our constitution”.

He claimed that the choice had caused a “democratic crisis” in France.

But he said that his party would not back any of the motions launched against Macron’s administration.

The administration will so be able to continue its pension overhaul.
