Kremlin has dismissed the fighter jet gifts to Ukraine from Poland and Slovakia and accused NATO of escalating its involvement in the conflict.

The two countries this week made more arms pledges, including MiG-29 fighter jets, to support Ukraine. Four planes have been promised by Poland, and thirteen by Slovakia.

“It seems that these countries are thus engaged in the disposal of old unnecessary equipment,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.

According to him, the action is “yet another illustration” of how NATO nations are “raising their level of direct involvement in the battle.” He said this to reporters.

Peskov stated that Moscow would not gamble with the outcome of its “special military operation” in Ukraine, as it is known to do, and added that this could result in further issues for Kyiv.
