The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General, Jassim Al Budaiwi, has announced a new tourist visa project expected to be operational across six countries by next year.

This was discussed during the 40th meeting of GCC interior ministers in Oman, emphasizing significant collaboration and a step towards unified tourism.

The project aims to facilitate the movement of residents and tourists among the Gulf nations. UAE Economy Minister Abdullah bin Touq praised the unified visa as part of the GCC 2030 tourism plan, foreseeing increased economic activities through enhanced travel.

The unified visa system, similar to the Schengen model, is anticipated to boost tourist numbers to 128.7 million in the next few years.
