Although the government hasn’t confirmed the exact dates yet, updates from the Imam of NGS and Khateeb at Al Manar Islamic Centre provide some insights. The scholar explained that the Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle, making the dates for Eid festivals shift by about 10 to 11 days earlier each year. Islamic months are either 29 or 30 days long, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon.

Expected Eid Al Adha Holidays in UAE:

  • Arafah Day, which is on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah, will be a holiday.
  • Eid Al Adha follows Arafah Day and lasts for three days.
  • According to this year’s Hijri calendar, the first day of Dhul Hijjah is expected to be Saturday, June 8.

  • Based on this prediction, Arafah Day would be on Sunday, June 16, and Eid Al Adha would begin on Monday, June 17.
  • This would result in a 5-day holiday from Sunday, June 16, to Wednesday, June 19.

The exact dates will be confirmed by the government based on the moon sightings.
