The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Islamabad arrested two key human traffickers belonging to an international gang.

The apprehended individuals, Asif Mahmood and Bilal Hassan, were involved in smuggling 35 Pakistani nationals from China to Hong Kong.

The Prime Minister’s Office had instructed an investigation into the matter, leading to the formation of a team under the direction of the FIA Islamabad Zone Director.

The team, supervised by Deputy Director Saim Sultan, conducted a thorough inquiry into five passengers returning to Pakistan.

Initial information obtained from these travelers identified Asif Mehmood as the main trafficker, resulting in his arrest upon returning from China.

Subsequently, the primary facilitator, Bilal Hassan, was also apprehended in Islamabad. The investigation revealed that the traffickers employed tactics such as creating fake documents, posing as businessmen, and providing training to immigrants for immigration clearance.

The organized human trafficking network operated on both sides of the border.

Raids at various locations led to the recovery of passports, laptops, and other incriminating documents.

The frozen bank accounts used by the traffickers indicated transactions amounting to millions.

Letters were issued to relevant institutions regarding dummy companies registered by the accused.

Efforts are underway to identify and arrest other suspects associated with this network.
