Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has lost his life in a plane crash near Baramati. The chartered aircraft, attempting to land at approximately 8:45 am, crash-landed on the runway and was forced to veer off into an open field near the airstrip.

According to the Indian media reports, there were no survivors among the five people onboard, including three passengers, two pilots, and a security guard. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has confirmed the devastating death toll.

Emergency services were swiftly deployed to the crash site in the open field, where rescue operations are ongoing. The incident occurred as the Deputy CM was traveling from Mumbai for a series of political campaigns planned in the region. He was scheduled to address rallies in Niravagaj, Pandhare, Karanjepur, and Supa ahead of the upcoming local body elections.
