HMD is making significant progress in the smartphone industry, with the IMEI database revealing the existence of nine new HMD smartphones. Initially, two phones were discovered, but this recent revelation brings the total to 11, showcasing the brand’s ambitious efforts. While specific specifications are yet to be disclosed, the presence of these models in the IMEI database confirms their existence.
The recent transformation of the NokiaMobile account into HMD marked the end of the Nokia era. The discovery of these nine new phones by GSMChina further underscores the brand’s commitment to a fresh start. The model numbers—TA-1584, TA-1588, TA-1589, TA-1592, TA-1594, TA-1595, TA-1602, TA-1605, and TA-1631—indicate HMD’s internal testing of these products.
HMD, standing for Human Mobile Devices, aims to create mobile devices that effectively serve humanity. The challenge ahead involves launching models that cater to diverse user needs to potentially revive Nokia’s former popularity.
While detailed specifications are still under wraps, early insights suggest that one HMD-branded phone may feature a 108MP triple camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Codenames leaked by Evan Blass have also heightened anticipation. The upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) is expected to provide clarity, offering a glimpse into HMD’s strategy and the potential resurgence of the Nokia legacy under the HMD banner.
