Pervez Khattak resigns from PTI-Parliamentarians chairman
PESHAWAR: Former Defence Minister Pervez Khattak has resigned from the chairmanship and membership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarians.
Pervez Khattak submitted his resignation to the Central Executive Committee through the General Secretary. He resigned from both the chairmanship and membership of the party.
Pervez Khattak has said in his resignation that he is resigning due to health problems and cannot fulfill his responsibilities for the party due to health reasons.
The Central Executive Committee of PTI Parliamentarians accepted the resignation of Pervez Khattak.
It should be noted that last year Pervez Khattak separated from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf(PTI) and formed a party in the name of PTI Parliamentarians.
Pervez Khattak lost his seats in the general elections and PTIP managed to win two seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
Earlier, The central council of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Saturday has rejected the resignation of JI chief Sirajul Haq, Bol News reported.
Spokesperson JI Qaisar Sharif said that Central Majlis Shura expressed full confidence in JI Amir Sirajul Haq and said that the Jamaat Amir will continue his duties according to the constitution.
Furthermore, the Majlis Shura meeting has also started under the chairmanship of JI leader Sirajul Haq and he will also address it.
